Catch Mouth of the South on tour this summer with Kublai Khan and Altars
About Mouth of the South:
Music as a career choice just always made the most sense to the members of Mouth of the South. Using heavy tones, mind-bending melodies and anthemic lyrics, the Arlington, Texas five-piece have blazed a trail in the Christian metal world, positioning themselves as THE band to watch in 2013. MOTS, consisting of vocalist Josiah Lyle, bassist Colton Bartholet, drummer Kane Taliaferro and guitarists Mike Butler and Tanner Allen, look beyond the traditional metal world clichés and recognizes that their platform is an important one, full of responsibility and not to be taken lightly. Employing groovy metal coupled with ambient undertones, MOTS is all about acceptance and nonexclusive community. They realize the gifts they've been given and strive with each note to best represent their blessings and in turn, encourage the kids supporting their cause in the pits.
"When punk rock started it was all about community, where all the misfits and people who didn't feel welcomed could go and find a new home and we would absolutely love to see that community come to life again. Where no one cares what you dress like or how you look and they just welcome you for who you are. No clicks, no crews, just community and powerful music." -Vocalist Josiah Lyle
These goals are evident and abundant in their July 2nd release Transparency, their new full length record recorded and mixed,by Ryan Harvey at Catharsis Studios, mastered by Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Studios, and features guest vocal from Ryan Kirby (Fit for a King), Tyler Carder (Harp & Lyre) and Canaan Smith (Altars).
Mouth of the South will be showcasing the new tracks at this year's Dallas stop of the Scream the Prayer Tour alongside Impending Doom, Gideon, Everyone Dies in Utah and more. Already looking beyond the summer, MOTS hopes to hit the road nonstop for the remainder of 2013 and have another new record completed by the end of the year. For now, enjoy the storm that is Transparency.
